From a view of an evil witch
Dear Diary: Today is the 5th day of capturing the little girl, Haley. I have her locked up in my highest tower, and I’ve just taken a moment to stop my potion to write down an update. I’ve poisoned her with a new potion I made to make her hair really long so I can cut it off and make thick ropes with it so I can eventually hang her for no reason. I love being cruel and evil to people. I’ve made many enemies in the past, and I have my crow, Sparrow, go out and find them for me so I can then fly over to their house, put him/her to sleep with a potion, and bring her back to my castle. Once a week, I get together with my witch clan and we discuss various topics for hours. We meet up at midnight, talk about who we have captured and for how long, and what new potions we have made and what they benefit. Haley is squirming in her cage right now, so I have to go fix her up. Signing off. View from a good, harmless witch Dear Diary: I’m writing today, September 15, 1962, about my day today. I woke up at 5 am to watch the beautiful sunrise. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and you could smell the fall leaves in the air. My 2 little girls woke up around 7:30. I fixed them breakfast: eggs and toast with some fresh squeezed lemonade. I then cleaned the house for an hour, and got the girls dressed so they could play outside. While they were outside, one of my girls cut up her knee and it was bleeding really badly. I made an ointment for her, and her knee stopped bleeding immediately. It was great seeing the smile on her face because her knee was healed! I then got a call from Reverend Parris saying he needed me to clean his room for me. I went over right away. I’m not rich enough for a car, so walked over. It took me about 20 minutes, which isn’t too bad considering it takes me an hour to walk over to the Notamin’s. When I got there, he beat me silly when I told him about my daughters leg and the ointment I used. He accused me right away of a witch. I was no such thing. I was extremely offended. He sent me home right away and I couldn’t get any money. It made me really sad. I then got home and made dinner for my daughters. I made turkey and ham sandwiches. No I have to go because the Reverend is calling me again. I hope he accuse me of any stupid thoughts he has. Endnotes: I wanted to show the difference of how witches are portrayed to be, like in movies and books, but they actually are harmless. They are humans. They only try to help people, not hurt people. The first entry is what people see witches as: cruel and evil and they lock people up in their towers. The second entry is what they actually are: human. They are nice human beings who only try to help. |
